| The Planning Commission meets on the second Tuesday of the month beginning at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Palmer Library. The Commission members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and include the following along with the date their term expires:
The activities of the Planning Commission is governed by the Municipal Planning Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It acts in an advisory role to the Board of Supervisors on any land use items and issues. It develops a Comprehensive Plan for the township and presents it to the Board for adoption. It discusses changes to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance and makes recommendations to the Board relating to any changes. It reviews plans of developers request for land use. All of these functions are very important to the proper growth and land use within our township. Palmer Township Codes on-line The township contracts with General Code Publishers to publish the township's codes. At part of this service, the township codes were recently put on-line through General Code's web site. By clicking on the Township Code Link on the navigation bar, to the left, you will be able to access these codes from any page on this web site. Of interest to those involved in planning or development would be Chapter 165, Subdivision and Land Development and Chapter 190, Zoning. From time to time the Board of Supervisors may modify, add to or delete from these codes. There will be a time delay between enacting the change and having them published by General Code. Any changes will be on file in the Municipal Building.
