In Palmer Township there are many sports programs that are available for children of all ages. The majority of those programs are managed by the Palmer Athletic Association.

The Palmer Community Pool is a popular site during the warmer months of the year.
During the summer there are several park programs for youths located in several of the Township's parks.
Palmer has approximately 8 miles of bike/walking paths in the Township. In the next couple of years this mileage will be added to when a path is constructed along the Bushkill Creek. When completed this will be one of the most scenic walks in the area.
As the result of a recent incident on the bike path it is important that people using the path be aware of their surroundings and watch out for each other. There is currently a movement underway to improve the safety of the path with more suggestions to come in the future. One suggestion at this time is that those using the path carry their cell phone and report any unusual situation to the police through 911.
