Home | Permits and Codes

The following are the inspection procedures.

  • No permit will be issued until permanent lot pins or monuments are in place
  • No permit will be issued until a curb (where applicable) elevation is obtained and marked on site
  • The following phases of construction require a call for inspection by the builder.  At least twenty-four hours notification is required.
    1. Footings (includes excavation, casting forms, rebars, etc.)
    2. Foundation (including bolt replacement, damp-proofing and/or water-proofing).  If foundation is backfilled without an inspection, it will be required to be dug out and work will be stopped until an inspection is made.
    3. Framing - includes nuts and washers on sill plates.
    4. Rough plumbing - walls will be required to be reopened if the rough plumbing has not been inspected.
    5. Insulation - insulation inspections will use Act 222 - The Building Energy Conservation Act.
    6. Sewer hookup and air test
    7. Final - upon completion of project
  • Any of the above inspections that are not called for will result in the dismantling of any construction necessary to make these inspections.
  • Curbing (where required) on all street frontages, and paved driveways must be constructed prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy or the use or occupancy of any newly constructed principal use structure on any building lot.
