Approval of Minutes: No quorum….couldn’t approve minutes.
Hauler Issues:
A
presentation was made by Bill Gallagher on a totter system for
T. Ganssle asked if we could save 20/30% by automating? Bill has to figure it out. Palmer is now paying $820,000 a year. C. Oatis asked if there are levels of automation? Bill explained that “yes” there are. How do they determine if Palmer can be automated? Bill suggested that we could be 80% automated.
A discussion was held and many questions were asked concerning a totter system for Palmer. Bill Gallagher will work on a cost estimate and get back to us.
Recycling Coordinator’s Report:
Recycling Center and
Grants…C. Oatis is finishing the 902. 904’s deadline is in September. Cindy put the cost of the totters in the 902 at the last minute. This will be the last 902 Grant. Growing Greener is taking money out of the recycling fund.
Cindy was asked if e-cycling is in the budget? We need a banner. It was suggested that maybe WM could pay for a banner. Bill Buskirk said to ask Harry Smith (WM).
Old Business:
Newsletter…J. Stoneback reported that the next Newsletter would be published in conjunction with Palmer Community Days in August. The deadline for articles is July 15.
Composting Seminar…T. Dittmar reported that it will be held September 17.
E-cycling…T. Ganssle reported it will be held on October 1, at
Community Days…T. Ganssle reported that the subcommittee (T.
Ganssle, J. Stoneback, T. Dittmar, C. Oatis, D. Veres) met at 6:30 before the
regular meeting.
