Meeting Minutes – May 18, 2006

Attendees: Larry Bonner, Tom Ganssle,Cindy Oatis, Rob Reese, Jo-Ann Stoneback, Bob Lammi (Supervisor and Liaison)

Guest: Bill Buskirk, Residential Route manager, WM/GCS

Meeting was opened at 7:00 P.M.

Approval of Minutes: Since there was not a quorum the minutes from the April 20, 2006 ESC meeting could not be approved.

Hauler Issues: B. Buskirk provided the committee with numerous reports and statistics that are generated by Waste Management. These included customer questions and complaints and their follow up by WM. The committee spent sometime reviewing these reports in some detail. C. Oatis asked if we could receive the total white goods tonnage for FY05.

Recycling Coordinator’s Report:

Recycling Center - C. Oatis passed the monthly Recycling Report generated by T. Adams and herself around to the committee for review.

Composting Center – C. Oatis stated that the contamination of the yard waste dropped at the center has been greatly reduced.

Other – C. Oatis asked the committee to inform her of any needs for educational information such as kitchen magnets, brochures etc. should be made known to her as soon as possible.

Old Business:

Newsletter: J. Stoneback said that any input into the next newsletter needs to be given to her by the end of May or early June. Input to the following August newsletter needs to be in by July 8, 2006.

Composting Seminar: Is scheduled for September 23, 2006.

EAHS E-cycling Event: The EAHS is planning for a September/October event.

Storm Drain Painting: The EAHS students have been marking the storm drains located near the high school.

New Business: The committee has applied for a site at the Palmer Community Days weekend event.

Next Meeting: June 15, 2006 at the Palmer Municipal Building at 7:00 PM.

Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
