Minutes – November
16, 2006
Attendees: Larry
Bonner, Tom Dittmar, Tom Ganssle,
Nancy Nicolas, Cindy Oatis, Rob
Reese, Jo-Ann Stoneback,
Denise Veres, Bob Lammi (Supervisor and Liaison)
Meeting was opened at 7:00 P.M.
Approval of Minutes: A motion by T. Ganssle
and seconded by Tom Dittmar to approve the minutes
from the October 19, 2006
ESC meeting was approved by the committee.
Hauler Issues: Rob Reese
discussed a request he had from some people to have a document shredder
available at the recycling center. Tom Dittmar suggested we consider obtaining a compactor, via a
902 grant. This would be mounted on a
concrete slab and could be used to fill a 40 yard closed container to improve
security of documents. It would also
increase the total volume that could be store in the container. Cindy Oatis
said she would look into this and report back to the committee.
Recycling Coordinator’s Report: Waste/Recyclables
Contract – Cindy Oatis expressed
her concern with the current time line for the upcoming hauler contract. She has updated based on all of the input she
has received to date. Grants – C. Oatis informed us that Palmer
Township received a 904 grant in
the amount of $118,000.
New Business: Rob
Reese informed the committee that the county has approved the
open space referendum by a 2-1 vote.
Denise Veres stated that she has been
receiving emails from residents asking if a date has been set for the next
e-cycling event. She also informed the committee
on what she learned about a company that provides a service to securely destroy
your old VHS tape, CD-ROM, and floppy diskette media storage. Rob Reese
suggested that we find out if our e-cycling vendor could provide this
service.
