02/19/08 Recreation Board Minutes

 

Meeting Opened at 7:36 PM

Attendees: C. McBrairty, B. Walker, C. Nielsen, J. Worley, B. Webb, M. Knox

 

Minutes of the January meeting were approved as written.

 

Worley and Cheryl discussed Wrestling and Capital Equipment Budget Changes

 

§         Moved $3,000.00 from Basketball to Wrestling

§         Moved $   700.00 from  Basketball to capital Equipment

 

Public Comment:

 

§         Bill Raven provided application/insurance for Men’s Softball

§         Steve Weber (610)515-0721 and John Balent requested the use of Fairview Park baseball Field (august 5th- October 30th) for Connie Mack Fall Baseball League (Ages 14-17).  Participants are from multiple jurisdictions, 3-4 are from Palmer, others are from Wilson, Williams Township, and Easton.  Will waive Palmer Township participant fees $25.00.  Will provide insurance coverage and ground maintenance fees or other applicable fees.  Cheryl indicated the Board would take this under advisement and respond accordingly.

§         Donna Meyers was present regarding Volleyball application.  Donna did not have proof of insurance with her application.  Ms. Meyers was requested to obtain insurance (was provided the names of various insurers) and was advised to contact Diane Grube when she receives the policy.

§         Jill Lichty attended the meeting discussed scheduling for the community center, dates for specific sport seasons, and working cooperatively with the recreation board and AA.

§         Request from Sandy Merwarth regarding using the Mill Race Pavilion for several Conservatory Meeting.  The Board discussed potential scheduling conflicts (no apparent conflicts), Jim Worley made a motion to allow , seconded by Chris McBrairty, and agreed by all.

§         Jim Schwab discussed equipment management procedures and status.  Discussed baseball shirts still have not been returned. 

 

Nielsen noted the Egg Hunt is scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2008 at Palmer School.  Rain Place the Community Center.  Candy and eggs have been ordered.

 

Bob Smith asked McBrairty to create a template for the Request of the Purchase of Equipment/Clothing through the Recreation Board.  This process will ensure that there is not excess equipment and uniforms ordered.

 

Worley made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Chris McBrairty and agreed by all at 9:40 p.m.
