MINUTES OF ZONING HEARING BOARD MEETING

 

The zoning hearing board of Palmer Township met on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 7:30 P.M. in the Palmer Memorial Library, One Weller Place, to hear the following appeals.  In attendance were Nicholas Noel III, zoning board solicitor, Charles Roseberry, board chairman, board members Cherie Kavanaugh and Daniel Caravetta, and Robert Gibbons and R. Margaret Kennedy, alternates, John A. Embardino, zoning officer, and court reporter Ted Rewak.

 

A motion to approve the minutes of January 3, 2007 was made by Cherie Kavanaugh, seconded by Daniel Caravetta, with all in agreement.

 

 07-14        7:30 p.m.  Janice M. King, 2400 Park Avenue is seeking a variance for relief from section 190-211 E (15) (a) [1] to place a shed within a required front yard on a property located in an MDR zoning district.

WITNESSES:  Janice King, Brian Hager

ACTION:  A motion was made by Daniel Caravetta and seconded by Cherie Kavanaugh to deny the request for relief from front yard setbacks for an accessory shed.  All were in agreement.

 

07-15                 7:40 p.m.  JHM Communications, Inc., of Phillipsburg NJ, representing America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, is seeking relief from section 190-184 A (4) (a) to install wall signs exceeding the area allowed on a lot with more than one commercial establishment.  The proposed business to be located at 769 S. 25th Street in the Palmer Town Center located in a GC district.

WITNESSES:  Michael Tironi, general manager for JHM Communications, Stephen Witchey, district manager for National Vision.

ACTION:  Cherie Kavanaugh made a motion to approve this request for wall signage within the specifications of exhibit A-2, citing the sign area of 77.6 square feet and colors as depicted and to have a timer to turn the lights off at end of business day.  The motion was seconded by Daniel Caravetta, with all in agreement.

 

Having no further business to discuss, the hearing was adjourned.
