MINUTES OF ZONING HEARING BOARD MEETING

 

The zoning hearing board of Palmer Township met on Tuesday June 3, 2008, at 7:30 P.M. in the Palmer Memorial Library, One Weller Place, to hear the following appeals.  In attendance were Nicholas Noel III, Esq., zoning board solicitor, Charles Roseberry, board chairman, Cherie Kavanaugh and Daniel Caravetta, board members, R. Margaret Kennedy, alternate, John A. Embardino, zoning officer, and court reporter Ted Rewak. 

 

A motion was made by R. Margaret Kennedy to approve the minutes of April 1, 2008, and the motion was seconded by Charles Roseberry with two in agreement. 

 

A motion was made by R. Margaret Kennedy to approve the minutes of May 6, 2008, and the motion was seconded by Charles Roseberry, with all in agreement.

 

08-16 7:30 p.m.  Micah Richter, 3553 Glen Avenue is seeking a special exception pursuant to section 190-29 C, to operate a gutter cleaning and repair service as a home occupation.  In addition, the applicant is seeking a variance pursuant to section 190-211 E (7) (c) [1], to install a six-foot high privacy fence in a front yard.  The premises are located in a Low Density Residential zoning district.

WITNESSES:  Micah Richter, and objector, Mary Lou Powers, 3546 Glen Avenue.

ACTION:  None Taken.

08-17 7:40 p.m.  Cassandra Gaughran, residing at 2731 Jones Boulevard, situated in a medium density residential zoning district, is seeking a special exception pursuant to section 190-38 B, in order to operate a mobile pet grooming business as a home occupation.

WITNESSES: Sandra Gaughran.

ACTION:  None Taken.

08-18 7:50 p.m.  Orbel Corporation, located at 2 Danforth Drive in the Palmer Industrial Park situated in a POIP zoning district is seeking relief from section 190-168 G (3) requiring a ten-foot parking setback from a nonresidential use in order to expand parking facilities at this location.

WITNESSES:  Ken Marino.

ACTION:  None Taken.

08-19 8:00 p.m.  Kevin D. Weidner, residing at 20 Alpine Drive, located in a medium density residential zoning district, is seeking a special exception pursuant to section 190-38 B, to operate a pool servicing business as a home occupation.

WITNESSES:  Kevin Weidner, Nellisa Weidner; Brett Clayman and Kim Crilli, 30 Alpine Drive; Martin Murphy, 21 Alpine Drive.

ACTION:  None Taken.

08-20 8:10 p.m.  Easton Area School District, Joseph Kish, Acting Superintendent, 1801 Bushkill Drive, Easton, PA, is seeking a determination pursuant to section 190-199, that a bus storage operation at Tracy Elementary School located at 1243 Tatamy Road is an accessory use to the school.  In addition, the school district is seeking relief from section 190-168 C (3) which restricts aisle length in a parking area to 200 feet.  This request is an amended application and a continuance of a hearing of April 1, 2008.  Tracy Elementary School is located in a medium density residential zoning district.

ACTION:  None Taken.

 

Testimony was heard for the above hearings and being after midnight, no deliberations were held.  Deliberations for hearings 08-16 to 08-19 are scheduled for June 9, 2008, 9 a.m. in the meeting room of the Palmer Memorial Library.  Deliberations for hearing 08-20, will be incorporated into the July 1, 2008 hearing agenda.

 

Having no further business to discuss, the hearing was adjourned.
