What to Do With Your Old Electronics
Electronic waste such as computers, laptops, monitors, televisions and other electronic devices can no longer be disposed of in our landfills due to the mercury, lead, and other contaminants they often contain. They must be recycled properly to prevent these contaminants from leaching into the environment.
Due to a fluctuating recycling market, we recommend that you call before going to confirm hours, locations, acceptable items, fees, etc.
Here Are Our Current Options:
Local churches and several municipalities in the Lehigh Valley sponsor events to collect old electronics. Check their websites and watch for advertisements.
Manufacturers and retailers that make or sell electronics often have free or low-cost programs to take back your old electronics. Examples of these include Apple, AT&T, Best Buy, Dell, eBay, Hewlett-Packard, LG, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Office Depot, Samsung, Sony, Sprint, Staples, T-Mobile, Toshiba and Verizon. Check their websites for more information.
