16, 2007 At the Board of Supervisors
meeting on this date four new part-time police officers
were sworn in by the Board Chairman David Colver. The officers
sworn in are James Alercia, Matthew Allshouse, James Taylor,
and Thomas Vogel. The Board of Supervisors and Police Department
are proud to welcome these men as protectors of our township. |

| June 17, 2005 - The Palmer Township Police Department along with the Bethlehem Health Bureau's Highway Safety Program held their second annual bike derby at Fairview Park. Approximately 70 children attended the derby. What a success!! Bike registrations were conducted along with helmet fitting and a derby course. Each child also received a bike safety ID card. The Palmer Police would like to thank our able Palmer Playground Summer Program staff along with the fine people from the Bethlehem Health Bureau. February 23, 2005 - On December 4, 2004 the quarterly car seat check was held at the Palmer Township Police Department with the Palmer police along with the Bethlehem Highway Safety Program personnel. A total of 14 car seats were checked that were pre-scheduled. Again it was a huge success with the help of Cindy, Irene, Jessica and Mildred from the Bethlehem program, along with Officers Tim Smith, Ricky Umstead and Det. Sue Siegfried. The next quarterly car seat check will be held on March 10, 2005 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Anyone interested in having their car seat checked can contact the Bethlehem Health Bureau at 610-865-7087 to make an appointment.  |

| October 1, 2004 - The Palmer Police
will be conducting a Kid Care ID program on October 2nd
at Home Depot. Cohen and Feeley is sponsoring a Halloween
Event at Deichman & Walker on October 9th. One of Palmer's
K-9 dogs will be there along with his handler along with
McGruff the crime fitting dog. Kid Care ID photos will
also be taken. |

October 1, 2004 - On September 9th, Palmer
Township Police Department along with the Bethlehem Highway
Safety Program held their quarterly car seat check at the
department's headquarters. At that time 13 car seats were
checked by appointment previously made through the Bethlehem
Health Bureau. To set up an appointment for the net car
seat check, which will be held on December 9th, please
contact the Health Bureau at 610-865-7097. The Police Department
wants to thank Cindy, Mildred, Irene and Jessica of the
Bethlehem Health Bureau for the continued support of this
program.
Officers Tim Smith and Ricky Umstead recently completed
the car seat technician course and Palmer now has four
certified car seat technicians. |

| June 18, 2004 - Palmer Township Police
Department along with the Bethlehem Health Bureau's Highway
Safety Program held a bike derby at Fairview Park. The
bike derby was a great success with approximately 60 children
attending this event. Cindy Shoemaker from the Health Bureau's
Highway Safety Program welcomed the children to the event
and bike officers Tim Smith and Dave Brotzman gave a safety
talk to the children. The bikes were then registered by
the Palmer Police along with the help of the Palmer Playground
Staff. The children then had their helmets fitted and were
off to the bike derby course. The children had a great
time and we received several compliments for sponsoring
such an event. We would like to give a big thank you to
Cindy Shoemaker and Jessica Mill from the Bethlehem Health
Bureau and all the Palmer Playground staff for their help
in making this event a success. |
