Curbside Recycling

The following items are acceptable for recycling. Plastic containers and glass must be in a Palmer Township issued recycling container or a container marked with a recycling placard.

  • No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, (NOT #6) and No. 7 plastic containers (clean and flatten). Plastic lids and cap are may be included in the container.
  • Glass - green, brown and clear glass only (clean and discard lids)
  • Cans - aluminum and tin only (clean and discard lids)
  • Newspapers - tie in 12 inch bundles or place in paper bags
  • Mixed Paper - Office paper, magazines, junk mail, phone books, etc. - tie in 12 inch bundles or place in paper bags
  • Cardboard - flattened and bundled with twine (3 ft. x 3 ft. x 2 ft. maximum)
The township wide program is managed by J. P. Mascaro & Sons who the township contracted with for curbside pick-up and disposal of residential waste. The quarterly billing rate, effective May 2, 2007, for curbside pick-up in the township is $77.25. The rate is for the entire duration of the contact, May 2, 2007 to May 1, 2012.
