Public Works Crewman
Palmer Township is seeking a full-time Public Works Crewman to support the maintenance, repair, and construction of Township infrastructure. This position performs skilled and semi-skilled labor involving roadways, stormwater systems, parks, facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Work includes tasks such as paving and pothole repair, snow and ice control, landscaping, sign installation, drainage maintenance, street sweeping, and preparation of public facilities for community events. The Crewman operates Township vehicles, heavy equipment, and hand tools in all weather conditions to help ensure public safety and maintain the quality of Township assets.
This position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with availability required for emergency or after-hours response as needed. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of public works or related experience, and a valid Pennsylvania CDL Class A with air brake endorsement. Successful candidates must work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with supervisors and the public, follow safety and personnel policies, and be capable of performing physically demanding work in changing environmental conditions.
